Keri-Keri sheep have proved themselves – naturally. During the 2002/2003 drought only weaners were fed a basic maintenance ration – all adult sheep had to survive on their own. They survive and thrive in a fully natural habitat of extreme plains conditions.

This success is due to the fact that the first priority in selecting sheep on Keri-Keri is “survival”. We have experienced below average to drought seasons since 1989. It has been a great opportunity to see how the sheep performed under harsh conditions.

Since the early 1970’s Keri-Keri has used “dual purpose” to describe our sheep. The term now is widely used and old fashioned. The Keri sheep are “profit purpose”, which better describes their abilities.
