- KERI KERI 5046 -
this section of the website will be updated as soon as the semen is ready for dispatch.

Keri-Keri has semen of many of its sires held at Artificial Breeding Centres all around Australia - from Victoria to Western Australia.

Keri-Keri's collection centre Riverina Genetics is locally owned and run at Deniliquin, NSW. (Veterinarian: Dr Roger Carmody; Office Manager: Annie; Phone: 03 58815515).

Semen from Keri-Keri sires R2445, G0321 and W8107 is available for export.

Dispatch or transport can simply be arranged by contacting Andrew Dowling who can also discuss your breeding requirements with you.

Andrew can also be contacted to assist you with information on the rams, progeny results (wool and meat) along with ram selection and joining programmes.

In 2006 semen from the two Keri-Keri sires R2445 and W8107 was exported to the Falkland Islands. We have received very complimentary feedback on the progeny. Photos of these progeny can be viewed in the Events Section.

KERI-KERI Sire R2445 (4 teat ram)

(Semen available for export Now)

Date of Birth : July 2002

Semen Price: AUD$ $44 per dose (GST inclusive).

Keri-Keri sire R2445 4T has produced outstanding progeny. In 2006, at Keri-Keri, he had the highest percentage of ram weaners to be classed into the top catagory (i.e. joined at six months of age), and the minimal amount of culls. Progeny are showing his characteristics of long, white, soft wools coupled with good growth rates.

Whilst not a lot of data has been submitted for R2445, his most recent figures available at the end of 2007 showed his Post Weaning Weight for progeny ASBV at a score of +1.0 (acc.75%), when the average Australian ASBV figure is only +0.3.

His semen has been used throughout Australia and more recently the Falkland Islands and Texas. He is another Keri-Keri sire to carry the 4 teater gene. Again, in January 2008, he was joined to a group of top Keri-Keri ewes.

KERI-KERI Sire G0321 (4 teat ram)

(Semen available for export Now)

Date of Birth: July 2000

Semen Price: AUD$ $44 per dose (GST inclusive).

A huge meat sheep with excellent wool. This ram is very bare around the breech. This photo shows the ram in paddock winter condition. All sheep at Keri-Keri are paddock run with no supplementary feeding or housing. Like many of the Keri-Keri sires this ram carries the 4 teater gene, producing excellent ewes with exceptional mothering and fertility traits.
No ASBV figures have been collected for G0321.

KERI-KERI Sire W8107 (4 teat ram)

(Semen available for export Now)
Date of Birth: July 1998
Semen Price: AUD$ $44 per dose (GST inclusive).

In 2006 Keri-Keri W8107 was the national trait leader in the Merino Validation Project for 200 day body growth rate of projeny. His ASBV at that stage was +12kg which put him in the top 1% of all meat sheep sires.

His most recent figures can be viewed on the Merinoselect Webpage.

Download W8107's October 2008 ASBV Figures (HTM).

His great 4-teater fertility trait continues to prove itself with his ASBV for No. of Lambs Weaned at +10 (+9 points over the the merino average of +1) & he is also a trait leader in all the Weaning, Post Weaning, Yearling & Adult weights.

Combined with trait leading figures in wool for Adult Staple Length +11.1 compared to the national average of 1.8, plus again a trait leader in Yearling EMD - he is still an unbelievably outstanding sire.

Unfortunately Keri-Keri W8107 died earlier this year (2008), not quite making it to his 10th birthday. Andrew found him curled up asleep near one of the dams where he had had his last run with the ewes. Therefore, the semen remaining in storage now becomes the only access left to his genetics. He lived his life at Keri-Keri, surviving the 2002 - 2003 drought and harsh climatic conditions. Apart from times at the AI centre, he lived in the paddocks on the Hay plains with no supplementary feeding or shedding. Being such a great plain bodied ram Keri-Keri W8107 is continually and repetively used by our clients to 'straighten their sheep out. He has the added bonus of also carrying the 4 teater gene.
